Every company has a story to how it starts and HandPocket Coffee also has its own. Before we tell you that story let’s introduce ourselves, Davie and Aronita are our talented baristas to provide a positive coffee experience. What’s interesting is even though we go to work or go to an event where we absolutely know that they will serve coffee we generally still grab a cup of coffee from the coffee shop. Well why is that? Cause we know it will be either be stale coffee, warm coffee, weak coffee, or just something you don’t want. Coffee has always been a beverage best served fresh which is what a barista will do for you and why HandPocket Coffee’s barista as a service will allow you to simply savor your favorite coffee drink.
HandPocket Coffee is a Chicagoland, IL minority owned company where the name has sentimental meaning for the owners. The concept and inspiration was found because Davie went on a business trip and met Jonathan Grams of Gondolier Coffee in Minnesota servicing as the Barista for a conference. Davie has always enjoyed a good cup of coffee as it is one of those beverages that bring people together, has complex flavors, goes great with food, and motivates people, all without the hangover! What started it all was when Davie began his career in the corporate life and needed a pick me up in the mornings. Someone suggested to drink a black cup of coffee instead of adding heavy sugar and heavy whipping cream to the coffee. What ended up happening is Davie found a whole new appreciation for coffee. Every cup was a different tasting coffee experience, depending on the beans, how it is prepared, whether it tasted better as a latte, espresso, americano, or just brewed. People in the company started coming to Davie to make their cup of coffee instead of using the office coffee maker. This was when the dream of owning a coffee business began. Davie, Aronita, and Maddox hope to bring a unique coffee experience to you as well.
Aronita is a born and raised Chicago native. As a Chicago Native she loves indulging in all the things that makes Chicago exciting, from small neighborhood theatres to unique culinary adventures. If it is unheard of, Aronita is open to trying it. This brazen mindset has not only allowed her to explore her own city but the world at large. Aronita has been to multiple cites, countries, and Caribbean islands to satisfy her curious nature.
As a self-proclaimed "foodie" her zest for new flavors has brought her to the world of coffee. Aronita has learned that good coffee is like fine wine, it has different notes which can take on different flavors and scents that can enhance your coffee drinking experience. Aronita is excited to share her knowledge and love of coffee with you, in this up close and personal experience.
